Terms of service

Last updated: 21 August 2026. These terms are between you and helen shen's software and service company for the KyuAdvisor product at kyuadvisor.com.

The service

KyuAdvisor is software: a Chrome side panel that analyses Go (Weiqi / Baduk) positions, and a Play page where you finish a game against KataGo. You send a position and a question; we return engine numbers and a short written note. This is not a live human teacher, not a wagering product, and not a prediction market. We do not pay out based on game results.

Accounts and age

You need an account to ask questions, play, and buy credits. You must be at least 13. You are responsible for the email and password you use. Register with your own email; kyuadvisor@gmail.com is our support address, not the address you sign up with.

Credits

Credits are prepaid units for this service only. They have no cash value except as described in the refund policy. A new question or a post-game review costs one credit. Repeating the same question on the same position is not charged again. Play against KataGo costs 0.5 credit per engine move. Credits are not a subscription and do not renew.

Acceptable use

Do not attack the service, scrape it in a way that harms other users, resell raw engine output as if it were your own hosted API, or use the product for anything illegal. We may pause an account that is abusing the analysis queue.

Availability

Analysis depends on our servers. If a question fails after you were charged a credit, we restore that credit. We do not promise a particular strength of play or a particular response time.

Payments

Checkout is handled by Stripe. Prices are listed on the product page in US dollars. By paying, you also accept Stripe’s terms for the payment itself.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent Canadian law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the 90 days before the claim.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
